Had an awesome week on Winnie. But one week never long enough. Sunday fished with a guide and had good day of fishing. We jumped around some humps pretty much catching fish on all of them. Then tried fishing deeper weed lines and had good luck there too. This was the first time in 9 years that I used shinners in July. Gave me some new experiences on Winnie. Had caught 4 20" walleyes, 2 23" walleyes, and a lot of keepers. Also caught quite a few northerns and a few perch. The perch were good sized and the northerns weren't anything to brag about. Also used some crankbaits along some deeper weedlines catching some northern, perch and walleyes.

Getting ready!!!

posted on 06/20/2009
Been a long cool rainy year in northern Illinois. It is getting close to my family fishing trip to Lake Winnibigoshish. Getting the boat ready, the fishing tackle, studing maps, and reading fishing reports. Gonna, hopefully, give the poles a workout this weekend on father's day. Going to Shabbona Lake for father's day picnic. Hope the fish will be biting. Hope all you dads have a wonderful father's day. I will try and blog from up north and let you all know how the fishing was.
