wow have I dropped the ball on my blog. It sure was a great season here on upper red lake. Numerouse walleyes were caught out of the houses . A few big pike were landed and even a few elusive yet still catchable upper rede lake crappies.
Mother nature was kind to me so far this season which made it a little easier working on my own. I had a great experiance working with the hillmens crew on there road system and learned a little more about maintaining a ice road.
My plans now are to keep all 5 shacks on the lake and try and land on a school of crappies. I have 2 houses rented for my crappie hunt march 9th and 19th and thast it si far. What better way to chase upper red lake crappies then have your warming house right on the lake where over 20 crappies have been caught in the last two weeks.
I plan on spending many hours in the next three weeks relaxing in old minnesota fishing for jumbo perch and the elusive upper red lake crappie.
April will be spent getting the cabins ready for opening weekend of walleye. If you have never fished walleye on red lake in May and June it can be some of the best fishing you can experiance, 100 fish a day is common. If you have a minnow in 6 to 7 feet of water you will catch fish.It can be crazy fishing thats for sure,
We have plenty of openings this summer and I always share where there biting.
I also have limitted camping down at the lake and also on the tamarac river.
