NW Angle & Oak Island Fishing Report 9-1-09

posted on 09/01/2009

The best walleye has been around Little Oak on the American side and around Falcon Island and tug channel right on the Canadian side now. Jigging in ten to twenty feet of water tipped with a minnow has brought in the best limits.

Fall is just around the corner which means the fishing will start to get closer too the lodge.

Muskies continue to be found in the weedy bays of the islands. Red and white bait have been producing the most. Fall is one of the best times of year for Muskie fishing.

It won’t be long and the leaves will start to turn and the geese & ducks will be flying overhead, a recent sighting of a bear on a nearby island getting ready for his long winter nap this week, and the scenery you only see in books is what our area is all about! Trust me, once you come, you will never want to leave! Sportsman's Oak Island Lodge www.oakislandlodge.com 800-872-8411
