I spent the last 2 weeks fishing with nothing to show for it. On 5/2 I tried lake Alice in South Dakota with not a bite. On 5/9 I tried lake Stay and Cottonwood in Southwestern MN and got the same result. I am hoping that the temp starts to warm up soon. I hope that I get better weather this weekend but there is supposed to be another cold front on its way. mad smiley

If anybody has any suggestions I would be more then willing to listen.

hey i started opener with the same attitude but have come to find out that walleyes have been easier to find than ever.. i live in montevideo mn and i fish laq qui parle lake ALOT winter and summer. and this year at the big lake was by far the worst i have ever seen. then i decided to try a local in town spot that supports walleye and northern after flood season due to the rise in water levels. well long story short there is a dam in montevideo right off the main thru highway thats under construction. left side of highway. the water is still way above average and the walleyes are giving up very nicely to a 1/8 ounce jig and fathead in the current bottom bouncing down stream.. been a little tougher lately due to limited shore space because of the number of people fishing it. right below the dam to the bridge is stacked with action.. whether walleye or northern. also the watson sag(first right outside watson) has been producing fewer but larger walleyes. last one weighed in at 6.4 and 28 inches.. water levels have dropped 7 degrees in the last 48 hours pretty much putting walleyes back into hybernation for the time being.. cottonwood lake has been a disappointment the last few years, even the winter bite has died off. waste of time and bait.. try hopping over to lady slipper outside cottonwood for some real LARGE walleyes that are rarely affraid to bite. maybe dead coon trolling different x raps and shads.. avoid live bait due to the ever increase in bullheads and northerns. get back to me for any other questions you may have.. i am very well established with all surrounding lakes and streams from marshall to canby and up to dawson, motevideo, watson, and over to big stone lake in ortonville.. which is producing massive ammounts of wall hangers already this season. want details get back to me.. thanks for reading... good fishing!

Monte thanks for the info. I have been trying to get on Lady Slipper but since I live in the Twin Cities I can only get out there on weekends. Slipper is covered in boats and my family has been doing really good when the weather is good enough to get on. I will be out there all weekend and will find something.
