I think we are getting off topic here. Not sure if there is some other issue going on but lets keep talking about sharing lake names.

I get your point CK about what benefit some might get from knowing what lake is producing. I am one of those guys you mention that doesn't get out all that often. But I have put in my time and learned the bodies of water I fish so it doesn't matter if there is a hot bite I can usually still scrape together a few fish.

I know you are trying to help out the masses and the newbies out there but you must also realize that your ideal world where you are only feeding info to good guys just doesn't exist. The father with 2 kids reads your posts I am sure but so do thousands of other guys that are just looking to drive to what ever lake is producing fish. They are the scavangers of the forum world. They contribute nothing they just take take take.

You are focusing only on the benefits but you need to see what harm you might be doing at the same time. It might not be an overnight thing but traffic on these lakes will pick up the more you talk about them. Some of us have seen it done to other lakes so we know it happens whether you believe it or not.

It seems to me that you would have a vested interest in the health of your local lakes since you spend so much time on them. If one day you start to see increased traffic, more city folk driving up, more limits and trophies being kept and less fish and privacy for yourself then you have no one to blame but yourself.

It has been well documented that you dislike the city folk coming up there and trashing your lakes, but right now when you name these lakes you are basically offering an open invitation for these guys to come up and pay you a visit.

All we are doing is offering a word of caution. I have seen people give you the same advice on every forum you have used so maybe every single one of us is wrong and you are the only voice of reason but when so many have brought it up to you when do you start to realize that maybe there is something to it?

I also agree for the most part especially on your smaller lakes although the pressure will increase over time thats for sure.
But BSL is a whole different matter were talking two small locations one of which you couldn't sqeeze a sardine can on the pressure will and has been tremendous on that body of water with high harvest by people who have never even heard of the Lake, not the fine people you bring out but lurkers who will spread the word like wild fire because unlike you who deeply cares about the fishery they don't.

I know your intentions are good I just disagree with you on this part and its obivous by your continued suttle hints/post that you disagree with us....no big deal I guess.

No hard feelings I hope.....my apologies.

More from GrrBrr,

"Ck I don't hate you, I actually think you are a good guy. But I believe you aren't factoring in the long term effect that you might be doing to some lakes. I like the fact that you get to go fishing almost everyday, but please don't name lakes that are small or exact spots on bigger lakes. I appreciate that you are trying to help the weekend warriors, but general comments would probably work. My .02 cents on this matter"

Another thought...

If you truly want to make people better fisherman then how is it going to help them if you tell them exactly what to do and where to do it? The absolute best way to learn is to take some info and figure it out for yourself.

It is called fishing after all. There are bigger problems in the world then a guy going out and not catching fish while he is in the learning process.

I know you like to force feed us your way of doing things whether it is your jig, your new rod, your technique, your way of tying your shoe whatever it is. You can put the info out there but there are easily hundreds of ways to put a fish in the boat and we will all use whatever method, lure, rod that we like and it does get old being scolded for not adopting your methods. If we want to learn we will ask. I know you are trying to lead a horse to water but this horse is just fine at its current watering hole.

I understand.
Maybe I could leave an email or something if someone not the entire world wants to know something.
I admit there are a few folks wanting to keep their lakes quite & protected.I get that,I really do.
As I spend time here & other sites believe it or not I have learned some things.
I will stop naming lakes.
Who knows if a guy will want to go out I'll start charging too which would cut down on the pressure as well.
This banter crap has got to stop.
I've got sponsers watching too and it does not look good.
So what ever it takes to make this whole thing go around easier for you & me I'm game.

So from now on I'm fishing Lard lake fed by crisco creek where the bass are feeding on frys.

your ok PB & NF in my book, always have been.
I guess we would be better off in the same boat rearin then tossing 1 liners at each other. No not you NF ,you'll do a whole page.

Are you saying I talk alot?

I have never had anything against you CK I am sure you know that. We can let the dust settle now. I am sure something else will come up sooner or later that will get everyone going again thats just the nature of a forum.

I do recommend that if you do post info about your area that you let people know they can email you if they want more info. I have been on both sides of that before both giving and recieving info and it does work out well. The info gets to the one person you want it to go to but the resource is also protected.

Guess the fun is over, I'll go back to work now. If my boss asks I was never here.
