I always wondered something.

When a huge fish like this is caught people are upset when its killed and hung on the wall, but when someone sees a monster buck that is the master of his domain all they can think about is getting a chance to kill it so they can hang it on the wall.

Whats the difference in your opinion? Wouldn't the benefits of leaving a monster buck that is a big reproducer be the same as leaving a monster fish alive? Big Fish= more big fish. big deer= more big deer.

I don't have a problem with people releasing a fish and killing a deer I am just curious why we would kill something for its size in one hand and then not kill something becuase of its size in the other hand.

Maybe its just one of those things that make you go hmmmmm????

I don't deer hunt, BUT I'd much rather people eliminate a few large deer than fish... mostly because we aren't hitting DEER with our cars on the highway at night (not always at night of course.) Deer hunting also feeds people, where a Muskie that size is so full of bones(I'm told) that eating it would be a huge chore. I know, a lot of people dont' eat the deer they shoot, but many do or give it away to people who need food.

Just my opinion of course. (as always

Even a BAD day of fishing is better than a good day of work; paydays excluded!

Can I get a graphite mount of the buck.
I took 2 last year, spikers.I ate em & plopped em out in the totty. Some of the best vennie I've had.You can not eat an antler ,but if I had the chance to bag a 8 pointer that was around 200 lbs with a nice rack, you bet he'd get dispatched. I did let 6 bucks go that were smaller. In a few years they will be monsters & will be worth taking. It only takes 5-6 years for a nubber to become the one for the wall.

The musky on the other hand takes many years & you can take a quick photo & get it back into the water to be caught again & to let it procreate. These are 2 different issues in my little pea brain.
