Hey miked,

Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Glad to have you aboard!

My wife's idea of fishing is sitting at the front of the boat, sunning herself and reading a book. The only time she gets interested is when the action starts picking up. She may or may not put down the book. I found that there are probably two factors that determine the action she takes. How good is the book and how big is the fish smile smiley

I found a Precision Tune where the owner and the manager both fish quite a bit. A couple of years ago, I mentioned that it would be cool if there was a place you could bring your boat to get an oil change. They said they would do it. Heck, they bring their own boats in, so why not a paying customer. Now, every year I make an appointment to bring in the boat. I bring along the gear oil and use their oil for the motor. They change the oil and swap out the gear oil. It's a heck of a lot cheaper then bringing the boat to a bonafide marine place to get it prepared for the season. Of course, I drain the gas in the fall, fog the cylinders and make sure there is no water in the pumps, and then in the spring, I get the oil and gear lube changed and I am ready to go. I got the boat going in early on Saturday and then will be shaking it out later in the day... might go for some crappies and make sure everything is working right. Better then bringing it up to the home lake on the opener and finding out something doesn't work ooo smiley

I see LSF ripped off the idea of a countdown ticker. Gotta love the fact that these "I gotta make a buck" websites are always trying to copy the original "we do it for fun" website (the only one like it in Minnesota). Better not say anything over there, though... you'll be banned for LIFE! (ooooooooh nooooooo!) crazy smiley crazy smiley crazy smiley

Me and my couisin went smallmouth bass fishing in Maine last year and just missed the spawn.

Can anyone help, I have (2) questions.

1. When is the spawn usually &
2. Does anyone Trout fish much?
