Just so everbody knows I see this davefisher guy posting the crap out of craigslist with his "I'm not a guide service but charging money to fish my boat" listing. Last time I checked charging people money for your service means your considered a professional. I am not a hater just don't want to see people taken advantage of.
the response to take people fishing redwing for 50.00 and fish Prescott 30.00 is for the costs for bait launch and gas.. anybody that owns a boat and fishes cant take there own boat out for that..I do not do this to make money just to fish.. boundary waters on the river are pretty good this time of year and the peps that have gone with me have no complaints...I will be fishing for the next week and a half with a friend.. will be booking trips after that.. It is not uncommon to limit out.. I personally release all breeder fish and only keep a few eaters.. If you don't fish the river well then your missing out om some of the best fishing around..
Well... I had to do it. I am bumping this post that started in '05. A lot has changed since then. My kid just turned 16 and no longer goes fishing with the 'Ol Man... oh well. Hopefully when he gets older he will appreciate the time we did spend together fishing.
The boat trailer has new lights, the batteries have been on the tender all year. Blew a hundred on some tackle and also bought a new net.
Still need to put line on all my rods, but that's about it. Pulled Pier's hat out and have been wearing it for the last couple of weeks. The wife has yet to ask me for it so she can wash it. It's still looking great, though... so maybe we'll skip the process this year.
As fo the itch? Yeppers, I got it bad. Dawn is happening when I am off to work, the birds are singing. Yesterday while putting on the new tail lights, Woodtic and I saw a couple of hundred geese flying south... probably the biggest flock I ever saw. They were way up there. Ooops... I gotta send an email out to my clients and tell them I am taking a couple iof days off for the opener. I try to do that every year

People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
