a 6 LB'er eh? My PB Largemouth was almost 6 and a half and was 22.5". It was spawned out, I caught it in the fall, I would have loved to see her in the spring time! How many inches did it go?

BassFisherJohn, that is a catch. Right on! Where were you? What were you throwing? I'm waiting for T-Bone's pic but, so far, you have the nicest bass.

hxcfisherman-
I was just going to say that...not quite as big as yours!
I have to keep the lake a secret, just a few clues--in the cities, very small, no boat launch confused smiley

It was caught on a texas rigged coffee tube, about 5 feet of water, in clumps of coontail.

Thanks for the compliment anyway!

"in the cities, very small, no boat launch"...you stink wink smiley

Ha! I hear ya dude. Thanks for sharing the bait though. I never throw tubes but I like to hear what's getting bit.

And Jake Didier, you are the best. Thanks for reminding me.

i love coffee tubes! definately one of my favorite baits for spring bass.

my favorite bait for giant bass though, is of course, freelined shiners!

FishCat-
haha, any other lake and I would have been glad to share it with you...can't let this one get too pressured smile smiley

My go to bait around here is usually some kind of Yamamota Senko or Yum Dinger...my buddy caught a 23 inch, 6.5 pound monster the other day on a black and blue Dinger on the same lake! If I can get a picture I will show you guys,

To me it looks like BassFisherJohns bass might be a little bigger just based on the picture.

But it may be just that his is at a better angle to the camera and held closer to his body so we can get an better sense of scale. I'm just looking at his hand compared to the size of the fishes mouth and head.

I personally like to go by length instead of weight of the fish since I've seen too many scales that aren't accurate enough for my liking. I have yet to use a scale that I would trust to give me an exact weight.
