The sad thing is that with the Wis.Guide person now he has given my state a bad name. I am so done with all the politics. If this is how people are treated for offering information...i would rather not have any help. I became a member here in hopes of giving and taking some helpful info...but when its offered all it does is create havok.

You can give and take as much info as you want from here, just be sensitive to small lakes. I can't see why that is asking too much of people.

I am not sure what other restrictions you feel there are here.

Ah... the power of the Internet... and oh boy, the power of free speech smile smiley

The reason there are rules is because I asked for there to be rules. Notice that I said asked, not told. What we are trying to avoid is the constant barrage of a single piece of information, constant bumping to keep that information on top, continued reposts of the same information along with the continued reposts of the same pics, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and again.

Who did what and when in the past is just that, the past.

Now folks, I don't make any money at this. I have contributed thousands of hours of my time to this site. I got a good user base going. Things are starting to spread out in the reports forum from some different lakes in the state. All in all, I thought things were looking up. BUT, I really do not have to take the aggrevation. I could, if I wanted, go in here and run this whole thing like a dictatorship and none of you could say boo about it. Or I could just pull the plug... and there are some that wish I would... especially for profit sites. You see, other sites say things like, "we are just like MFP, you can post anything." But try to go on those sites and slam a sponsor. If you did that, you will be gone. So no matter how much they say they are just like us, they are not. I think that is a good thing. We are the original, folks, and a lot of people have tried to copy our format.

But really, the idea was to have this thing run by you... the users. And I am going to try to keep it that way. I wish the original post was still around, but I accidently deleted it. If you took a vote on all the positive responses I got on that original thread, it was about 75 to 1 in favor of the new rules. Why did people vote with their response this way? Because they were sick of the way things were going. Sooooo... if I am trying to run a democracy and I put up something like this and get an overwhelming response that is positive, then I gotta go with it. The rules are there, we will enforce them, and if you don't like it, I am afraid I am going to lose you. That's just the way it is.

I tell you what... these controversial threads have always brought a plethera of old and new users to the front. I will try to put this to a vote again, even though I know how it is going to turn out. If you want the rules to stand or not, that is the question.
