You don't think MN Care is a national program, do you? When I used the term "greater society" in my last post, I meant American society, which is what the recently enacted HCR legislation encompasses.

If your position is that you're against HCR because some states like Minnesota already have programs that provide healthcare for the poor, and you don't care that some families go bankrupt and join the ranks of the poor when they incur high medical bills, and you don't care that insurance companies deny some legitimate claims to increase their profits, that's a reasonable position to take. Say so honestly instead of claiming to care about those people.

LOL... is that what you think my position is? I hope not.

more than 50% of the country is against this HCR bill and you believe this is the reason.
You my friend are the one living in a sheltered world.

I don't really think you have any interest in debating the bill at hand, but if you do, let me start the conversation by telling you this;

I was forced to drop out of college, work two crappy jobs, scrape for every penny and move back home to pay rent at my parents. All because the insurance company dropped my moms coverage and we've been fighting not to end up completely bankrupt. Actually my mothers story will be on Kare 11 news pretty soon.. They came and filmed but I'll make sure to let you know when it airs.

The point is that I definitely do care about people in situations like you describe and I'm pretty sure the rest of us who are against this HCR care as well.

Now if you would like to talk about HCR as it is being enacted, I would love to have that debate. But if you just want to cast stones then go ahead. It only makes you sound like a POS.

The results of this CNN poll suggest the majority of the American people want govt-run healthcare, contrary to what you may hear on FOX "News."

"As you may know, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate are trying to pass final legislation that would make major changes in the country's health care system. Based on what you have read or heard about that legislation, do you generally favor it or generally oppose it?
39% Favor, 59% Oppose (chart)

(IF OPPOSE) Do you oppose that legislation because you think its approach toward health care is too liberal, or because you think it is not liberal enough?
39 % Favor (from previous question)
43% Oppose, too liberal
13% Oppose, not liberal enough"

http://www.pollster.com/blogs/us_health_care_cnn_31921.php

Are you with the minority (43%) who're against this HCR legislation because you think it's too liberal? Or are you with the 13% who believe it isn't liberal enough?

Can you explain specifically why you're against this HCR and what you believe would be a better solution to the problems it addresses?

Anyone who want's to talk political parties does not see the real issue. This is not the reform we need, read the bill its only about 2300 pages with changes. My mom just survived cancer, without insurance we would have been broke, but alive. To tell me I don't know or care is a slap to the face as I'm sure it is to you. Let us know when your mom's story airs along with any benefit or other info you may have.

And just like yesterday: Stay strong, catch the biggest one ever and have a wonderful night.
