Hey, everone is entiled to their opinion..Just because I disagree doesn't mean I think any less of you...Infact I give you props for standing by...what I would consider the minority side of this.

Bowhunter with a side arm when hunting bear.
I bring a pistol along with me when I camp in the bwca.
Pistol hunting big game
Target practice
killing the SOB that breaks into your house at 3 am.

You know automatic wepons are ilegal....simi-only. $50 and a stamp and you can have your AR (or what ever) fully auto. In my opinion...these laws won't make a dent...Bad people do bad things. banning guns won't change that. You could get thumped with a hammer and be just as dead as with a gun.

I will always respect a man that stands up for what he believes. I've said that I never could stand Paul Wellstone's politics. I always believed that he was sincere in his beliefs and stood up for them because he thought they were worth standing up for. He didn't need a poll to help him decide.

NF..
Has our society changed enough to were old laws are no longer sufficent. Back in the day guns played a different role. But times have changed, now hand guns specifically are generally used only for bad.

Again I must point out that the only news we all hear is when a bad thing happens.

how many postive news reports do you hear of ,none! So I agree that when you see a news report it is bad.
They live off of that crap.

Now concider the car commercial that tout's a tv screen that flips down & the kids go silent.
Then it cuts to a school lunch room with many unruly kids & they flip the tv thing down & the lunchroom goes quite.

In my day all an adult had to do was snap the fingers & the quite came.

do not spank your kids said DR. Spock now look at what we got. Laws against you hitting your kids.
C'mon the goverment backed up Spock & now they make their own rules on parental controls.
I believe it's the goverments fault. They took away the rights of the parents to hold their kids accountable.
I see so many brats in the stores.I see them on the streets.
My kids grew up with the fear of God instilled in them and they are A students. Yes sir,no mame types & when they say they will do something it gets done yesterday not tommorow.
They are respected by their piers and they will stand up for the rights of everyone not just the pretty people. The are made of high morals & I swatted them when they lied or cheated early on.

You just do not wake up and have integrity. You do not just decide you have it. That's something you had before you even knew what it was.
Being held accountable & being made to pay the consiquences are what gets a child to that point.
There are too many families out of control because they have no ability to control their children. The goverment does not support parents rights rather the child has all of the rights.

I believe until the goverment stops selling this bill of good which it won't because they gain control if we are in jail or on goverment programs the American public is screwed.

I'll keep my guns near & dear so when I need them they are there.

I never took these arguments personally.

We all have our opinions and really this isn't an issue that is going to change. The legislation is not going to change any time soon I am sure.

We are going to have to find another way to avoid the increasing killings.

Have any of you ever seen "Bowling for Columbine" Its all about gun legislation. Apparently Canada has as many guns as the US does but only about 1% of the killings we have. What is the difference between us and them, we both have guns but Americans apparently like to shoot each other while Canadians are apparently content with just throwing canadian bacon at each other.

It's called respect for human life.
Maybe there should be a law that says you have to. Rhetorical

Maybe there is a chemical in Maply Syrup that calms Canadians down and keeps them peaceful.

enough about the gun debate for me today. I'm going fishing.

I think I'm going old school today. Digging up a handfull of worms and putting them on a plain hook under a bobber. Can't beat that technique for a few pannies.
