The first weekend is in the books. All five sleepers had action with one crappie caught out of florida. With the temp at -25 today we will just make sure everything atys running and check the houses.
Merry x-mas to all

I have been a very busy guy, today will be the 19th day I work all day on the lake, The fishing was much better this weekend as I dial in new areas to fish. there were plenty of walleyes caught ,a couple of crappies and a 41 inch pike was landed out of california. We added a new house Idaho. Dish tv,indoor biffy,4 single bunks, small sink 10 by 18 it is a heavy house and we had to but a new jack just to raise it off the ice. It has been on my list for the last 3 years so it was a nice addition to our equppment. It is minus 25 this morning so it will be a slow start today.

We were able to have all the houses set up on fresh spots last weekend in a fishy area and most did well for walleye, One bonus crappie and eel pout were caught in Florida house. The guys in montana were not very good fishermen? Most went home with there 3. I now have all the houses on fresh spots again for the up and coming weekend. With the temps in the Minus 30 I will attemp to just keep everything running at this time.

We made it through the cold snap and everyone caught walleye this past weekend. Some did better then others but thats nothing new. My crappie spot did not pan out I I will try another new area this week. 8 miles out has not produced a crappie at all? The bottom is atleast 6 inches of muck but they are not there.
I will be vacating that area this week. It still pisses me off that I can not get to the north. Mother nature has made it tough but I will never throw in the towel and plan on fishing where I want from here on out. I tried to cut through Hillmens berm last week and dropped the front end of red baron through. After getting jerked out I had to give up on that stategy.. I still do not undersatnd how they can make a unsafe condition and get away with it as the law says you can not obstruct, render dangerous for passsage any public water used by the public. Oh well If you want to improve your odds at crappie you will have to go out of hillmen's. Buddy builds one helll of a road and deserves every penny he makes maintaining it.. Lets do the math I have 7 houses that are rented every weekend, Thats any where from 7 to 14 vechicles per weekend times 10 thats 70 to 140 road passes plus waht they may spend at the store plus all my weekly rentals. Plus all the people that I tell to go out of hillmens. I just don't get it.

After two days of horrible fishing it looked like it was turning around last night.Everyone had a couple of fish in there buckets. Catching 50 fish a day has not been inthe cards but 20 to 25 for the weekends has been about the high average. The walleyes we are catching sure looks healthy. We have also seen the pike fishing pick up in the last few weeks with a 47 incher caught on the south side. Scottt fishing in Montana fish house landed one over 40 and Lee got a 32 yesterday. It seems every house has tagged into a pike the last two weeks with most escaping a little more educated.A few crappies have showed up but we have not had any numbers as of yet. I will be chasing them right into april . The snow has made it diffecult to get to certain areas but if a guy brings a potable there are roads into those areas. Jake and Andrew will be rolling in any time and plan on doing some hard core fishing the nxt two days.
