Since this news article popped up in the Star Trib, we may as well bump the thread so others can find it.

I've watched this thread and the "why don't you answer my questions by Surfs Up" is hilarious.....

You want to know why I hunt and or fish.

I am a predator. My eyes are mounted in front of my head...not on the side of my head.
I eat what I kill. When hunting there is no catch and release so as a responsible conservationist.I practice my skills, honing them to be the best I can be.The animal I'll put down deserves a quick clean kill.
I hunt to cull the herd. As a conservationist it is my duty to thin the heard. Not thinning the herd only leads to over population of that species which will kill itself off through starvation and disease in a slow painfull death.
I am apart of a life cycle.

I also hunt to relieve stressors. The physicallity of the hunt promotes a better more healthy being, both mentally and body .

As a fisherman I also cull those species and sizes of species to promote a healthy balance in that fishery.

I can not think of another high protien lean fat diet then wild meats or fish.
I clean my own fish and animals.I know what I'm eating when I process these delicious food stuffs.
I also enjoy other benefits in the way of extra cash that I do not spend in the grocery store.
My costs for these activities are next to nothing when you concider how proficient I have become.
Sure a rod and reel may cost me 200$ but amoratized over a decade the costs are minimal to be out there culling my meats.

As a sports man I have to pay for lisence fees. These monies to go help protect and restock our wildlife or reintroducing species that may not otherwise exsisted.
The lands purchased from the monies I'll remit will be there many years after I am gone... still protected and managed to maintain a healthy ecosystem.

I am a predator...that will never change.
I am a conservationist and teacher for the ways of the outdoors.

I take these responsibilities very seriously.

Why do I hunt.....I hunt therefore I am alive and well.... humble and thankful to the Lord my God for the oppertunity to participate in the circle of life. The bounty the Lord makes availble to me, fills me and keeps me whole.

Why do I hunt.....

This is my response to Surfs Up....there will be no other comment made by me on this subject.

These steelhead tasted great off the grill done in butter with lemon pepper seasoning!
