Yeah, I'll go out there and ice fish a few times a winter and you can usually catch fish after fish when the crappies stack up but good luck finding one over 9" haha. It used to be the spot I'd bring a friend or anyone who doesn't get to ice fish much because it can be constant action.
The few times I was out there this last winter the vexilar almost became useless because you couldn't see your jig through all of the fish. In 30 feet of water the crappies would be stacked up in the bottom 10 feet. The vexilar was almost a solid color from 20-30 feet.
We probably caught a couple hundred crappie out of there last winter and most of them looked like they came out of the same mold. They are almost all exactly the same size, I don't think we got one over 8-9 inches.
