I just Zip tied mine to the pole above me in my fishhouse, then used some speaker wire to make the wire longer and stronger. (I like the phone cord idea). And i put alligator clips for the connection to my battery.

Walldigger, You will not be dissapointed in the lights from BHK, After you put them in and you show some buddies, they will be asking you to order them some. I have ordered about 10 strips this year for some of my buddies. I may order more so i can install into the boat.

I just got my lights. I can't believe how much brighter they are than other one's.

I'm toying with idea of running all the wires down to a toggle switch inside the portable. I was thinking of drilling holes in the tubes and running the wires on the inside of the poles. I'm going to have to give this some thought, I don't want to start making holes in the new house if it isn't going to work.

Any thoughts anybody?

Thanks

I new you would like them lights Walldigger.

I have mine wired on the outside if the poles but have heard of guys running them through the poles without any problem. Just make sure you use something to protect the wires from getting cut where ever you drill holes in the pole.

I think I have read that people use a bigger wire to run through the poles insted of the tiny wire that comes with the lights.

Good luck and enjoy your lights. cool smiley

I think it woulds nice to have the wires in the poles and out of the way I know a few people that have done that but if they break off or kink up it would be a pain to fix. If you go that route for sure use some rubber grommets where you drill into the poles.
I think electrical tape or Zip tying them to the poles would be the way to go and use a flexible wire if possible.

PierBridge thanks for the picture! I think I will do the same thing. The more I thought about putting a switch inside the house the less I liked the idea. I can see it already, breaking the switch off and trying to hook the lights up in the dark and of course not having my lantern with!
