Here's one that I learned almost the hard way on one of my trips up there.

Make sure you have a lug wrench that is the correct size for the trailer tires (sometimes the nuts on the trailer are a different size than your car) and that you have a jack that has the capacity to jack up your trailer when the boat is on it. We had a blowout on the trailer and fortunately we were able to use the car jack b/c the boat + trailer was small and weighed less than the car, and the lugs came off w/a crescent wrench. My bro-in-law went the next day and got a lug wrench for the trailer. Just something else to think about.
