My point is if people want to post...let them post. Everyone has the option to read or not read a thread.

The exact size of what is considered small is really up to the individual. All other info can be given though becuase if you catch fish at 10 feet on your small lake chances are other small lakes in the area with similar structre are on a similar pattern. So if a guy is willing to go out and do some work that info you posted will help him out alot.

I don't fish alot of small lakes but I am a little tight lipped about lakes in the St. Paul/Minneapolis Area.

Being from Wisconsin I can honestly say that not all lakes are structured the same. Here every lake is different. Only thing the lakes have in common here is the weather. Are all lakes in Minnesota structured the same?

Now it's my turn....
Consider a weekender. He has 1.5 days to fish.
If I name a lake in an area he has wanted to go to then he can use my timely 1st hand knowledge to have a ball.
Sure some want to get out just to get away from it all ,but on the other hand he feels it was a waisted trip if he does not find some fish.
So my info was invaluable to him.

Next ,there's these lurkers we all know are out there. Some are really novices and maybe some do not even fish. They'll see my posts and maybe one of them with pics or video strikes a cord in him that say's I want to do that. Full well knowing the lake ,depth, time of day you name it.
Now he buy's a license and takes his 2 kids to go out for some fishing & they actually hook up and have fun.
I have received emails from 1 Dad that did exactly that.

I also look at our struggling businesses that enjoy the extra $$$ generated because of gas for the boat & vehicle, bait, pop munchies & whatever else that gets bought.
Naming the lake brings people to our area.

Most of my posts are not made for the fishing yet, rather the newbie or rookie.Confidense is a tough thing to develop & if I can help with that by giving all of the pertinent info I will.

Just yesterday I made a post of Lard lake.Ficticous of coarse ,but no response.
Had I named it Big Sandy I'm sure there would have been several responses.
I like it when my posts are answered, don't we all?

I have been monitoring the lakes that I've named & they are no more busier now then they were or would be at this time of the year.

If you go to FM you'll see several areas broken down & they all have little lakes getting named.
If we were to only name big lakes then all we would be talking about would be M.L or BS.There are no other big lakes around.

Your being pretty harse to a newguy you do not even know!
I guess you can not have an opinion here unless it falls in line with the general consensus, when did that start being the rule?

We have had some great debates ,but in the end we always came together right NF?

Dude says..

I think that's about it. I know this got way too long, but it had to be said. I take full responsibility for lost users or any other fallout that may happen. But, that's the way it is. If any of you have any suggestions or if you would like to discuss clarifying any of these rules, that's okay with me. I am going to post this in the general forum and periodically bump it to the top. Everyone can have their say. If you are on board, I will hope you tell me so. If you want to argue points, that's okay too. Anyway... thanks for taking the time to read this.
