I have it horrible. The end of may can't come soon enough for me. I really miss the thump of a bass on a jig. I saved some rods and reels to clean up to help me pass the time. I bet tonight I sort my boxes for the umptenth time!

I was perusing some old threads and found this. I posted it back in 2005. I still feel the same, though some things have changed...

  • My kids birthday coming up is his thirteenth.
  • My boat now fits in my new garage so there is no need to feel like a nut just sitting in it.

    But...

  • I am still pulling out my manuals.
  • Going through my rods and reels.
  • Taking stock of my tackle.
  • Still have hockey practice and piano lessons.
  • Might buy even another rod and reel... could always use another one smile smiley

A couple of months away, folks!

I am very thankful for Pool 2. Come mid to late april I'll start hitting the banks. If its a warm spring it might be even earlier.

Its nice catching walleye and bass the first week of may.

We still have some great ice fishing left...I hope. But yes, the itching has begun. It reminds me of that Christmas Eve feeling when we were kids smile smiley

Kind of funny how folks will sit in their boat in the winter, eh?

I couldnt wait, so had to go down to hidden falls (pool 2), just to see if the park was open. To my suprize there way half a dozen truck-n-trailers already there! good to know i'm not the only going stir-crazy, I can only look down a hole for so long. So I was glad I had brought some tackle and an old rod. No one I talked to caught anything (or at least didn't admit it). I hook a Big.. Green.. blanket, argh, which i was happy to release (remembering that pool 2 has that rule). But it did feel GREAT to cast out into open water. Also watched an Eagle for a while (he didn't catch anything either)so when he left, so did I. Skitt Fiske!
