mmmm... I got a tackle box that weighs about 30 lbs. with everything I need except for a toilet. Most everything in the box is in plastic molded boxes. I usually just pull the one I need for the day and that's the one that stays on the dash.

Like a lot of fisherman I spend money on tackle all winter long so I can use it in the summer. I know I will be using all sorts of stuff this spring, summer, and fall. I have 6-8 bag or boxes, in the boat at all times. They get swapped out as the season goes on.
It's the rod and reels that needs to be readied. I just counted 6 bait casting outfits and 5 spinning units. Some with Fire wire, and some with mono. I know there are two more with friends and I may or may not see them again unless we fish together this summer.
The jigs are are all sorted and stowed away with care.
The worms are all sented and salted to taste.
The crank baits are all tuned and ready to fling.
Spinner baits and buzz baits can't wait to get wet.
I pick up the Ranger Monday or Tuesday at Frankies and then
I start to load up.
Do I need this much stuff? Heck no, but having a lot of stuff sure is fun.
Oh wait a minute, I have to get out and pick up more chatter baits.

As for my tackle box/boxes etc I fish so much all summer that I put a little bit of everything in the 2 sided plano box. Obviously keep the soft plastics separate from any of the crankbaits etc so not to ruin their pain jobs.

Always have spinner baits, especially opener weekend, at the dam here where there is usually a large number of Pike feeding on anything that's in the highly oxygenated water.

Only thing right now that I have to replenish is a small supply of Rat-L-Trap's. I lost 4 of them in the fall when the water got low, darnit.

Speaking of buying and spending your tackle, I spend a lot of the winter topping off my supply. Texas rigs with grapes. Got my favorite colored Gamakatsu hooks - you know, the colors that work on your lake. Hand made Lindys ready to go. Favorite jigheads. Assorted sinkers, bobberstops, beads, raps, spoons. Batteries charged, gps and graph checked out. Reel oiled the reels. Gotta get a larger spool line for all the rods. You know the drill. Boat checked out. Man I'm itchin'. Can't wait for the 'eye season to open. I actually need a break from all the crap that has been happening. I'll be taking Thursday and the following Monday off. Thursday night to get the yahoos out, Friday to see if there are any crappies left, then pounding it hard for the next three days - a much needed break.

After a couple weeks, I'll hit some local lakes for bucketmouths and then the rest of the summer, I'll sneak up to the cabin when I can ;-)

Well, in the past I have been guilty of throwing atleast 3 of the 4 tackle boxes in the boat and spending the day fumbling around with them and tripping over them. But now, I have seen the light.

Towards the back of my boat on the side is a 3 drawer tackle/tool box. I am taking that one out and installing 2 sets of 4-slot tray boxes that hold the large plastic Plano trays. 8 trays, thats almost 2 large tackle boxes full. Always on the boat and out of the way!

I only wish I would have thought of it before I ended up with weights, hooks, and bobber stops sprawled all over the interior of my boat! GRRR! smile smiley

Went to Gander ordered 5 gross of shad. Add in few jig heads and I'm set for the walleye season.

Fish on
