Hey SandBurr,
After last night I would be inclined to say Lil Red.I was in 9 & 10" blue gills.I think the smallest one was 5".I think Rick & I caught 1 every 40 seconds if you averaged it out over 2 hours. My arm still is sore.No kidding. It got to be a work out.
It really depends on what the guy's want to do .I'll put the crew in nice crappies and smaller gills or big gills and smaller crappies or medium size to big crappies and medium sized gills. West-Whispering or Lil Red?
We will have the lake mostly to ourselves if we go to Red. The other 2 will have more boats.

Red sounds interesting also. Will we need boats for RED?

yup,the access is primitive ,but there should not be any hassles like the last time. It is a very small lake say 100 acres.

Hey Dice,
You can rest assured that these gentleman you refer too are made of the highest moral fiber & character.I would stand here today proclaiming their integrity being hands above the rest of the rif raf in our society.
Albeit fishing tales may be somewhat embelished, however the intent is to create the interest in the sport we love called fishing.I guess that is excusable in my book.

Does that mean my boat will fit no problem or do I need something smaller?

Yours will fit,but a smaller boat would be easier to get in. It is a little shallow ,but I've seen big boats in there before.

CK-

Another question for you. There is a little lake by my house that is about 100 acres with a feeder crick and another going out into another lake then into the St. Louis. The deepst the lake gets is nine feet and in the summer it has a ton of weed growth. Probably about 50% of the lake is weeds in the summer. We have caught some huge gills, and a few nice crappies while walleye fishing. I assume I would start by a creek? Like I said it is only 9ft deep, and almost like a bowl. What else would I look for in a lake like this to find the pannies? I guess in a worst case scenario I will still catch some eyes by the creek!

Start with locating reed or rice stubble. They will either be right smack in the stuble or just off the edge.Put the jig 12" to 16" below the bobber. start to cast up to the edge & see what strikes. Go from there. You could cast out to as they might not have come in all the way to put on the feed bag.
If the north end has this stubble start there or at the mouth of the creek both sides.
These areas have silt along side of the main channel. It should give up it's beauties by this time. Most all lakes have warmed enough so that you will find them. Stay persistant & keep covering water.I always say ,"show me 1 and it's all over but the crying".
Once you find one set your anchors and start culling.
