A week or so after the Opener, we decided to stay local to maximize fishing time on a short outing. The alum treatment from last year on this lake really has water clear and the weeds booming! Making long casts with Squarebills yielded a few smaller bass and pike and then we started catching some bigger fish (both Pike and Bass) than I'm used to on this lake, mostly on Spinnerbaits, and had a productive couple hours before the wind finally blew us off the lake but not before a boat side Muskie encounter.

Looks like fun. I was out on BE on Saturday night and had a mixed bag of gills, crappie, and a lone walleye. Nothing worth keeping so all went back.

We mainly just drifted over humps and up shoreline breaks. Crappies were in about 20 fow, gills in 6-8 fow, and the walleye was on a weed edge in 12-15 fow.

It's crazy how much clearer the lake is after last years treatment.

Glad to see the lake picking up a bit. I quit fishing it a few years ago because of the frustration of finding the boat launch full and nothing but 7 inch crappies. 10 years ago, you could catch a bunch of decent sized fish with the ocasional walleye.

In the 70's it was a very good bass lake.

I wish it was still a good bassin' lake! Lots of small fish that's why I was surprised when that 3lber hit the spinner pretty close to the boat.

The lake is still full of 7 inch crappie and its still busy. We usually go out there when we just want to kick back and relax while catching a few fish. You can almost always find something willing to bite as long as you aren't picky about size.
