Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself here. I am a MN native and grew up down in Fairmont. I now live over by Rochester. In the summer I spend my weekends in Wabasha on my boat. I recently have gotten bit by the Kayak fishing bug. I am starting out with a 14 foot Manta Ray angler. This should be a great summer hitting the backwaters and catching some fish.
Your gonna love the yak fishin!! I have a 8ft6inch not much room but I dont carry much fishin.I fish the Mn River around Granitefalls and small streams and rivers. Its great it goes where nobody else can get!
Of all he things I ever done I aint never had too much fun
Keeping America clean and beautiful is a one mans job."Mine" We all need that attitude
I spent many years fishing from an inflatable pontoon. I often miss the peace and quiet that kind of fishing offers. Not to mention the ability to get into spots a regular boat never will get into. Welcome VivaYak!
Viva, about six years ago we camped on the west shore of south silver lake in the month of June. In the early morning on the south end of the lake I was casting a scented weedless worm for bass. I kept hitting the bank and pulling the worm off shore and then bam! Now I have caught northerns bass fishing top water with scum-frogs and spinners but this was by far the best one. My worm maybe touched the water, then all I see is pike. No more than 2" from the bank my worm is destroyed by what looks to be at least 15 lbs of pike.
Never caught it, never had a chance. It ate it while performing the best top water boil me and my buddy have ever seen. It went straight out under the boat and bit through my 12lb mono and said thanks for the $4 meal! Damn it and dream on......
