Has anyone been catching anything on any lakes in these counties? I have been out four times and that's including out on Millacs and haven't caught anything. I have been using jigs and swedish pimples along with crappie minnow heads and I'll switch up with wax worms. What am I doing wrong???????

We've been lucky in the past few years with a good bite. This year snow blocks out the sunlight and I've heard it has something to do with feeding and the zoo plankton in the water. Just got skunked myself on Mille Lacs.

I wouldnt suggest setting foot on rush lake in Chisago county.
A freind of mine went to meet up with his son, and the sherrif was not letting trucks go down the hill to the landing parking lot.
Instead people were parking on the road, walked right by the sherrif on their way down to the lake.

When my freind came off the lake, his truck had been towed to Forest Lake (DANS tOWING) $548.00 TO GET HIS TRUCK OUT OF IMPOUND.

i AM TOLD THEY WERE CUTTING LOCKS OFF THE TRAILERS AND LEAVING THE TRAILERS ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET AND JUST TOWING THE VEHICLES, SO THIS WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE!!

Hey Walleye111,

Welcome to My Fishing Pals. I think you will find the site to be fun, entertaining, and educational.

If what you heard is true that is an extremely harsh way to treat folks! No warnings to any one??? No clue that this would be an issue??? Wow...makes you wonder what's up doesn't it?

I take it from your handle you are a walleye guy. How did you do this past year? What type of waters do you enjoy fishing?

Again, welcome to My Fishing Pals Walleye111.

A good friend of mine has been fishing on mille lacs and catching nice pike and a few walleyes on shiner minnows...thinking about heading there friday.I had fished in that area a couple times (2) last winter and caught 19 pike myself along with the others that were with there were probably 30 pike in two days. largest being 14 pounds but my friend had caught several in the 20 pound range. ooo smileySo i'm kinda getting the itch to go out and try it...only thing is it'll be a bit of a haul walking out...but that's the price you have to pay.

Hey Fisher........
My fiances dad and mom live just outside of Malmo on the north end of the big pond.
We did alright fishing this year, although the tight slot size made it frustrating to bring them into the freezer.

mallard..............what area are you going out/ if you dont mind sharing the information. My future inlaw / dad is on the north end, walking out to a portable with poor ice, and a brand new wheel house in the driveway.

would love to hear where the big pikes are biting?? smile smiley

I think you guys have been missinformed about Rush Lake, I was there on Saturday night when the cops where there. They did not cut peoples trailor locks and just leave them there. The reason they where towing people is because it's not legal to park on the sholder of a county road especially when it is winter. They never tried to stop me from going down the hill to the landing, I had a great night of fishing full of nice crappies! Rush Lake has been great to me this year thus far, so maybe everyone should listen and stay away and I will catch all the crappies for ya! really rush is a great lake to fish!
