Many anglers I know also have dogs, some are used for hunting, others just the family pet.

What kind of dog do you own?

Do they fish with you?

We have Coonhounds (An English and a Bluetick)....nicest, funniest, goofball dogs Ive ever owned, looking at a Treeing Walker puppy at a shelter this week!!

Hey MuskyBandit what is a Treeing Walker dog? I have never heard of one. I have two Chi's (Chihuahua) and two cats. Now the Chi's would love to go with me when I fish, but I would worry the Bass would think they were bait. So I leave them at home. LOL I want to get a German shepherd pretty soon, but she has to wait for a bit. I want to get one that is certified for good hips. And that is going to cost me a bit of green stuff. Hence the wait. My parents use to raise the working side of that breed. And that is where I get my love for them. I have wanted one for a long time. But I hate the idea of cramping a big dog up in an apartment. I told myself I would get one when I move out into the country. Well I finally got there, now I just have to find me a good dog.

A Treeing Walker is a type of Coonhound, the one that looks most like a Beagle (sometimes), much bigger though.

Pulled this off the www.

HISTORY
The Treeing Walker was developed from certain strains of English Walker Foxhounds. The credit for the development of the Walker Foxhound goes to two men-George Washington Maupin and John W. Walker. Both men were from Kentucky. Before that time, Thomas Walker of Albemarle County, Virginia, imported hounds from England in 1742. George Washington, who was an avid fox hunter, also imported several hounds from England in 1770. These dogs became the foundation strains of the Virginia Hounds', which were developed into the Walker hound.
At least one major out cross was made in the 19th century that was to forever influence the breed. Strangely, the out cross was with a stolen dog from Tennessee of unknown origin, know as Tennessee Lead. Lead didn't look like the Virginia strain of English Foxhounds of that day. But he had an exceptional amount of game sense, plenty of drive and speed and a clear, short mouth.
Walker were first registered with U.K.C. as part of the English Coonhound breed. Then in 1945, at the request of Walker breeders, U.K.C. began registering them as a separate breed-first as Walkers (Treeing) and then later as Treeing Walkers.
This standard was formed and revised for the purpose of guiding Bench Show Judges, Breeders, Breed Participants and Single Registration. The Treeing Walker breed was founded and has become dominant because of its ability to run and tree game, therefore, this recognizes the need for variety and individuality within the breed as terrain and/or other purpose shall demand.

I Love my Chocolate Lab..in fact I joined under her name..Nadja!!
Yes she loves to go fishing with us and drive my husband crazy by laying smack dab in the middle of the boat so he has to step over/on her. It makes for a few good laughs though!!!

The only pets I've got are these BLEEPING ladybugs that show up every time the sun comes out during winter. I like dogs but don't have the yard for the kind of dog I'd want (no thanks on little terriers and stuff).

frawri....you can E-Mail them to WebDude or you will need to upload your picture/s to a web hosting site I use photobucket it's free after signing up you will browse to your picture location on your computer and then upload the picture to a your photobucket album.
Once you have the picture uploaded to post a picture for this site you will copy the TAG link below the picture and paste it into your post.

WebDude would appreciate keeping the pictures no bigger than 500 by 500 height/width.
So you may need to edit and resize your picture, photobucket will do this just select edit and resize to 50 percent of original.

Here is the Photobucket link that will open in a new window not sure how to rename it...

ThIs ThE tExT

Any problems or if just want me to post a picture for you E-Mail at dartmasterhd@yahoo.com
