Just a reminder. Up here at Lake of the Woods we can keep our permanent ice houses on the lake until March 31 (ice permitting) after that time portables can still be used. Our fishing season runs until April 15. Fishing the Rainy River at first ice out is also a possibility at this time. Many time we've had ice fishermen and boaters here at the same time.
You will have to pardon me for being a little ignorant about fishing on LOW, but can you ice fish for crappies from the south shore? Most of the reports seem to be specific to walleye/sauger and northerns.
I ask this question b/c I am an optimist. If I came all the way up there and limited out on walleye/sauger on day one, I'd have to be able to fish for something on day 2. Thanks for the information.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
