(paid advertisement by WedDude and MFP)

I posted this information on another thread but I thought it valuable enough that it should be on a thread by itself...

So Why My Fishing Pals?

Click on some links to find out....

Why do guides join?

Why all these links to other sites?

What is the purpose of this site?

Why should you join?
Well, this is really quite simple... because I am such a nice guy ;-) Seriously though, if you read the information on the links I provided, you will get the idea. I believe that by not offering paid advertising, this site gets purer posts. What I mean by this is if a guide is doing well, I want everyone to know it. And how about the resort owners? If they have renters who are slamming fish, why not let them let everyone know about it? Bait and tackle shops? They can have lots of information... same thing.

The various parts of this site are here for you to find out information on things like other websites, events, bait and tackle shops, other forums, etc., etc. I have been asked in the past, by you users, how can you help this site? Well this brings up a good point! If you explore this site and see something you like, albeit another site, an event, another forum... please click and go there. Webmasters can keep track of incoming links (referrals) and they know where you are coming from. The more people I can get to click these links to other sites, the more important this site becomes. Take the directory, for instance. Things are really taking off there. I am getting on average of 5 requests per day for inclusion from other sites into the directory. What does this mean? It means it is becoming popular and other webmasters are seeing the worth of having a link there. The events page is relatively new, but obviously, there is some worth there too.

Anyway, click away folks, if something interests you. It helps this site a lot.

By the way, if you have a site that is not listed in the directory or other pertinent spots, just fill out the forms and I will get it up. There are several sections of the site where you can list stuff...

Fishing Directory and Resources Page - International directory for anything related to fishing

Minnesota Bait and Tackle Shops - Minnesota businesses only

Tournaments and Events page - Shoot me an email with the information (webdude@rsdigitalmedia.com)

Fishing Articles - Shoot me an email with the Article (webdude@rsdigitalmedia.com)

On most of these pages are links to add your site.

So you see , there are lots of spots to add information! Pretty easy to do too. Also there are a lot of spots to check out. So start clicking folks!

This is good info 'Dude. I noticed a lot of users here have their own website. Kind of funny... a forum for webmasters of fishing sites :-) There are lots of those out there!

Hashing over the old stuff, hey WebDude? ... but I agree with Ted, there seems to be a lot of siteowners of fishing sites in this forum. I wonder what the ratio would be. Not knocking it or anything, jus strange that your forum seems to have a lot of others who run similar forums.

Well, I guess as long as the information is good... who cares? I have been on this forum since August of 04 and it's nice to see the site taking off the way it is. I've always believed in your philosophy and think it's the way to go.

Another thing I noticed, and I am not sure about this, but it seems this site has broke the mold of what fishing sites used to be. Several years ago, all the sites were commercial. I think what is happening is that some are seeing the success of this site and jumping on the bandwagon and letting people post what they want, free advertisement, etc. It's a good idea WebDude and keep up the good work.

So Why My Fishing Pals?

Because I like it ;-) Besides, where else can you go to spout off! "The original in controversial fishing sites!" Not a bad ring to it.

Who'd a thunk fishing sites could be controversial. Remember the FM thread? I heard there were threats of law suites.

mmmmm.... is that true 'Dude?

Hey jj,

You're a stinker, aren't you...

Jiggle,

No law suites on the horizon as far as I can see :-)
