Good Morning Fishing Pals!

Fishing seems to be picking up a bit. although still spotty.
We fished 16 people in our houses this weekend, with some houses doing better than others, we averaged about 15 fish per house per day, each house reporting that they missed alot.
Jigs most used were red and white glo jigs with the white doing the best.
We have 2 houses set up in 4 mile bay for the evening bite. Some nights you can have a flury of action, catching several other nights not a bite.
If fishng continues to inprove little by little March could put us back into the fishing we're used to here.
People start checking in again on Thursday. I'll report again next week.

I checked out your link to www.shipswheelresort.com. I got a question for you. I can't find any information on boat and motor rentals. Maybe I missed it. I got a boat but it is heavy and the amount of gas it takes to get up in your neck of the woods is pretty hefty. So I guess the questions would be...

How much for boat and motor rental - per day - per week
Do I need to be staying at your resort in order to rent boat and motor?
What size boats and motors?

Sorry for the questions, but a couple of years ago, I called up a resort to see if they rented boats and they said yes. When I got there, they told me I had to be renting a cabin in order to rent a boat. That kind of sucked. I ended up arguing with the guy and blew half a day of fishing before he would rent me a boat. Kind of took the fun out of the trip. Talk about your bait and switch!

Hi Scrunch,

Thanks for checking out the web page. Summer rates will be going up soon.
Yes, we do have boat rentals (2). Everyones favorite is our 18 ft Naden with a 30hp electric start and depth finder. It rents for $60.00 per day, plus gas. The other is a 16 ft lund with a 15hp motor.
no depth finder. $50.00 per day plus gas.
We will rent to someone not staying here with a few stipulations.
No trailoring the boat and it comes back to the dock every night.

Sorry about the hassle you had with the other resort.

"A resorters point of view" when renting to someone not staying at the resort. 1.) I don't know this guy. 2.) where's he taking my boat?
3.)will my boat come back? 4.) will it still be in good shape?

I did hear about a resort loosing a boat renting to someone not staying there ( can't remember where) a vehicle came dropping off one guy to pick up the boat. The vehicle left picking up a trailor and meeting the guy with the boat at a landing. Trailored the boat and disapeared. That night when the boat didn't return the resort owner called the Sheriff only to find out the name, phone# and address the guy left were fake. I don't know if they ever got the boat back.

Well, now that you put it that way, I can see the concern a resort owner would have. This guy should have told me up front though, before I made the drive.

Anyway, thanks for the info!
