There's no doubt the south shore of Lake of the Woods is murkier than usual this winter, but what's making the water so cloudy? Researchers from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and the state Department of Natural Resources took water samples along the south shore of the big lake in late December and early January in an effort to answer that question.
