How are you all doing so far this year. Any hot spots?(just Kidding). In the Chisago area the eye bite has been slow for me but the few I have found have been is shallow 10'to 12' Lot's of gills (all small) and a few lakes are giving up some nice Crappies. Due to the ice and not able to drive out I have yet to make it out to some of my hot spots due to the long walk and time I have after work to get there. One other thing is there was a post about the Chuddy Dart awhile back and as a side note of the 3 eyes iced this year 2 came up on a Chubby Darter. other was on a Buckshot spoon.
I gotta a friend from the old home territory who called last night and said I should get my butt up to Gull. Seems that the 'eyes are really turned on right now. Mornings and evenings seem to be the best times. Big fish being caught on golden shiners with plain hook. He's been fishing in 15 to 25 feet. Been catching lots between 16 and 20 inches and a few up to 25 inches. Watch the ice though. Kind of thin. 7 to 18 inches.
