All I could find dated January 9th...

RED LAKE
Crappie action improved last weekend with more limits being caught. The bite isnt as good as normal, but better than last week. Some big northern pike have been taken, and walleyes will bite, but must be released.

One of my buddies was up with his wife for three days over the weekend. Very slow crappie bite but they said they caught some beutiful walleyes(which must be released). From my experience, I have always done the best out of Rogers, however I always pull my house up so I have not rented. I have heard alot of good things about cookies rentals! We have done our best with demon jigs either a blood line, pink, or purple with glow tipped with emerald shiners. Actually, that is about all I have ever used on Red Lake. Good luck and keep movin till you find em. Keep us posted as to how you do!

Glow Jigs, I prefer to use on URL in order Red Glow, Blue Glow, Green Glow, you can never have enough Glows Jigs start buying them now in all different sizes and you will need a Tazer "light" to make your jigs glow.
I like to bring my Tazer into the Bait/Tackle stores so I know the color and intensity of the Jigs before I buy them.

Give Steve and Tyler a call at BearPaw Guides. They will be able to give you an up to date report. Some nice pike to be caught so bring your tip-ups! Eyes, perch, and pike will keep ya busy if you can't find some crappies.

Good Luck!

Crappiemagnet,
Forget them 13 inchers on Red. Them 22 inch crappies can be found on Slyvia/Twin! Remember saying that? Woowhoop!

I have a freind that fishes Red all the time. Very slow yet. Alot of eyes nad sometimes even some nice 9 to 11 inch perch....I agree glows are it. Get that Glow N Go from Zero Degree Ice tackle at Dr. tackle or Westwinds.....This product glows the jig all the away around the lure....better than that tazer.....
