Well I made it out again tonight. Totally different day of fishing compared to last time, I dont know if it was the weather or what, but the fish were in a funk. Marked a lot of fish, just could not get them to commit. Caught a lot of perch, saw a ton of little ones which is a good thing right now and caught enough walleyes to make for a good night. Only had two real nice fish but nothing over 26 so that was disappointing but oh well. The kids had a lot of fun catching perch and eelpout and reeling in some walleyes, caught on 22 that was tagged by the dnr, so I cant wait for the DNR report to come home, I really like reading the info on the fish.
Caught on huge sumo perch, I will be having a mount done on it. Nice big fat perch, my little cousin got to reel it up and he was tickled pink to have the 2 largest perch of the day.
My plan was to get the kids to have a good day on the ice, I think they did.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
