So yesterday, I promised my wife that I would help her pick out some bathroom stuff for a bathroom we are redoing. My son got a call from one of his friends to go icefishing with his dad. They went to a private lake up in the Chisago area and slammed the northerns. My kid caught 5 with the largest being 30". Mmmmm... big time fisherman is out shopping while his kid is out catching fish... go figure. I got to tell you it can be tough getting out when you got a family. I haven't even been on the ice yet.

Actually though, I did get equal time at Gander Mountain yesterday. The store I usually shop is moving and all tackle is 20% off and rods are 10% off. I asked the wife for a new St Croix to replace the one I busted last summer. She ended up giving me a gift card and talking the relatives into gift cards too... all to Gander Mountain. I walked out of there yesterday with 2 new rods and some other miscallaneous tackle. Then I remembered I dumped one of my small tackle boxes (you know the kind, small plastic box with all your really small hooks, sinkers and crappie stuff) and I just heaped all the tackle back into the box, so I ended up sorting out tackle and taking inventory as to what I got and what I need for the soft water. It isn't even January yet and I can't wait to get the boat on the water. If the tropical trend continues, I may put it out on Prior next week ;-)

So I am getting emails as to when I am going to get out on the ice. The problem is that I have been working weekends installing new servers, accounting, business logic, etc. etc. at work. We are revamping the whole company. It really REALLY puts a damper on the fishing when you are working 70 - 80 hours a week. It looks bad for all of January. I am hoping on getting out sometime in February. Boy life sure sucks, but I gotta feed the family.

I am seeing all these nice fish being posted and some reports trickling in and it is really bumming me out. Sure would like to feel the tug of something. I kind of envy you guys. Oh well... keep the pics coming and I will get them up on the pics page. All new pics are displayed on the home page and rotated out as new ones come in. I fell behind a bit and will add some more tomorrow. A reminder to the guides, resort owners and other webmasters... all pics posted here will link back to your site. I like to give credit where credit is due.

Bummer 'Dude... you ever think of working at a different place of employment? Sounds like they are working you to death. You've got to take some time off sometime.

Invitation... WebDude come February please accept my invitation to come fish a day with me on "Secret Lake" near Owatonna.
This is a private rock quarry that I have had access to for many years. I also call it "Sunfish Heaven" but it also has Walleyes, Bass, Norhterns, and Crappies.

It is located just West of Mystery Lake, over in Hidden Valley.
wink smiley
I hope you'll get a chance and the time to take me up on this offer as like you, I am way over due.
I could use a day off on the ice... for sure!
We can also hit Cabela's on the way.
Here are some pix...

Hey Hoggie,

Would you mind if I added a couple of these to my pics pages? I'll link 'em all back to your site. That would be great!
