Last I heard there was still open water up in the Brainerd area on the open areas. I am going up there this weekend and will get back to you on this. This will be the first hardwater excursion I have been able to get to since the cold hit.

Nix the last post! I just read... "Walleyes are biting! North Long, Pelican, and Round are all producing fish." Some nice fish up to 24 inches have been reported, most have been 15-16 inches. Gull and the big part of Pelican have some thin ice but should be better withing a day or two."

Whoopie!!!! I am definitely going now! I can't wait for 4 o'clock to roll around. I'll be in the truck with the gear ready to go. I'll keep ya posted!

I'm heading out this weekend. Can anybody tell me what the ice is like in the metro area? Have you been out lately?
