Probably somewhere in between. Although not sure I've gotten out enough the last few seasons for it to matter much.
Normally I enjoy getting out on the ice late in the season to chase panfish. Its nice to hole hop in a sweatshirt when its 40+ degrees. I've had to use planks to get on and off the ice more than once. I guess normally I consider it over when my planks aren't long enough any more.
