I'm a pretty lucky guy. After 23 years of marriage I finally asked my wifey if I could decide what we did and where we go for our 24th anniversary. And she said a very unenthusiastic okay....so I threw out the Alaska adventure idea...and she ok'd it.

I'm calling it the "Manniversary"....it's going to be a thing!

So off we go to Anchorage. Rent a car, head down the Kenai peninsula to Soldotna to chase the worlds largest king salmon, and red salmon. We also will do a trip to Seward for a halibut silver salmon combo. And down to Homer for a halibut, rockfish and lingcod multi species trip.

I'm sure that many of you have been there already. But this is our 1st time. So any suggestions on where or what to do, not miss, or don't forget about, would be awesome! Thanks for your input!

Alaska is still as advertised! We had an amazing time. Caught a ton of fish. Saw plenty of animals. The sites to see and mountains to gaze upon and teal colored glacial rivers to stand in are all way too much for words to describe. I would advise all of you to go and see it yourselves before you are too old to really enjoy it and have to see it from a cruise ship. Although I hear that is very nice as well!

Animals seen, costal brown bear, moose, dall sheep, mountain goats, whales, sea otters, killer whales, sea lions...everything but a caribou.

6.5 earthquake in Homer while standing on the Homer Spit.

Places to not miss! Flat Top Mountain hike above Anchorage, The Homer Spit, The Salty Dog in Homer, The Russian River Falls, catching a Kenai King Salmon! Both trips out of Seward and Homer provided beautiful views of many glaciers. The Glacier Brew House in Anchorage, the food was awesome!

Now for some pic's

Black Rock Fish

Big Lingcod

Beautiful Yellow Eye Rock Fish

More Halibut

20lb Silver Salmon

Dreams Do Come True!

This will not be a once in a lifetime trip! We will be going back, just not soon enough!!!!!!

And for a few more pic's that aren't just fishing related. I'm sure that many of your wives are like mine. They enjoy the scenery more than the fishing!

This is Denali National Park. Mount McKinley.

The confluence of the Russian River and the Kenai River.

The Russian River Falls

The teal colored waters of the Kenai River only a few miles from Cooper Landing.

This is Ptarmigan Pass between Anchorage and Seward...unbelievable pic for a phone camera!
