How's everyone Panfish bite been lately? I feel like most lakes in the Metro are in a midwinter bite and slowing down a bit. It won't be long though until the bite turns hot for a few weeks before ice off.

A week or so ago I submitted PTO to get out of the office and chase a good Bluegill bite. It seemed like I had this Metro lake all to myself for a change and was able to find a few areas which were holding nice Bluegills. Weeds seemed to be the key in finding these fish, if you weren't marking weeds - the fish didn't seem to be around. The fish (other than small Pike and Bass) weren't very aggressive but small tungsten jigs and plastics seemed to trigger the bite.
