Is it too early to talk ice fishing?

Last year at Fleet Farm, I remember seeing Clam/Fishtrp make a small sled that stood up with a side curtain on both sides to block the wind. I can not find them, or any other info about them. I was thinking it would be great for the early season to haul around my gear when I walk out. Anyone have one of these, of know if they're still being made?

I don't see it on the Clam site anymore.
My guess is it did not sell very well, although like you said it would work pretty good for early ice.

The last one I saw was at Dicks/Galayans last fall not sure if they still have them or not.

A scout would work good with just a little more weight.

mt bucket..er i mean net wink smiley
i would bet some one has one of these held over from last season.
the largers stores tend to clear these things out, but an outfit like joe's, or reeds may have something like that lurking in the back room for a guy just like your self.
the worst case, you just buy a tub and modify it to suit. sounds easy enough to me and i think you are right, they would be perfect for early ice. better hurry, if it hits the showroom floor, you will be paying top buck and we all know ice is right around the corner.

good luck, jigglestick

Thanks for the tips, guys.
I had to stop at the Fleet Farm on my way home from work. Needed 3/16 cable to jack the front tree back to vertical after the storm. No cable, but I did manage to suddenly find myself in the sporting goods section. I waved down one of the Fleetdale workers about said stand-up sled deal. No go in storeroom.

I wandered around through the camogear and decoys, and there they were. Not the Clam standup deal, the Otter sleds. Stacks of them, small, medium, large, and mini; beckoning me to look them over.

Pressed for time to finish the tree job, I spent the next 1/2 hour pondering the different sizes of sleds while chatting with other Fleetdale shoppers. After much consideration on pricing and value, I opted for the Mini Otter sled. Afterall, up until now, I 've carried the stuff out there in not so mt buckets. wink smiley

It fits in the Jeep perfectly, while the other would be too long without folding down the seats. Thanks for your tips, Jiggle, I'll try and fashion some sort of windbreak on it, maybe even a benchseat as well with bucket minnow station.

It will be the perfect mini compliment to the enormous Fishtrap Voyager flipover I already have.
