Its a nice lake or more accurately a resevoir for a lot of species. Been going there since I was young since my grandparents are in duluth. I am just starting to get the lake figured out but still need some help.
I fish this lake in the fall at night time from the shore.Dont catch alot but the size of the fish run much bigger than the day time for the most part.Smallest i have caught there at night is around 2 lbs and the biggest is around 8lbs.One will find the fish just inches from the shore, never had a bite unless my lure is around 5 to 10 feet from the shore and most bites happen when the bait is next to your feet as you are getting ready to take it out of the water to recast and I can tell you when there is no light and the water turns white in front of you it just abouts scares the life out of you. i remember one time I set my tackle box down right next to shore and the water turned white just inches from the shore,I took off running, scared the heck out of me for i must of set it down right next to a walleye. For first time there i would try near the bridge if I were you, there is some light from the 2 bars thee and a street light or 2.Good luck
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
