Okay... a bit late, but I totally forgot, with work and home, that I actually made it up to the home lake last weekend. The fishing was a bit tougher then the last time, but we managed to put 2 17.5s and a 14.5 in the well. We both caught a 20, but had to put them back. Also a few northerns and rock bass. I did maanage a huge smally, not sure of the size, but I bet it was close to 6 lbs. That was fun on the ultra-light with 6 lb. test. The whether was fantastic and we were getting enough bites to keep us interested all day. Fished the typical lime green hooks with sliding barrels tipped with leeches. All in all, it was nice to get away. Nice to see the old owners back at Hillcrest too!
If you've got short, stubby fingers and wear reading glasses, any relaxation you would normally derive from fly fishing is completely eliminated when you try to tie on a fly. ~ Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing, 1988
