Only fished 3 days, all in the evening, into darkness. Caught a couple of small northern on Rapala divers. Trout produced the most action for northern. Worked the area west of Foley's on Whitefish along with a lot of other guys, and didn't get squat. But, I did see a couple of boats bring some small 'eyes. I jigged with a variety of trailers, as well as trolled at different depths and speeds. Business there really only afforded me the chance to fish somewhat limited, so I didn't get minnows or leeches. Used all artificial stuff. Probably why I was skunked on walleyes. Saw tons of fish in Whitefish. The dam was both opened and closed while I was there for a few days. Didn't get anything in Cross at all. A couple of bumps, and saw a few, not much going on for the most part. Daggett was dead as well. Still, weather was good, and I'd rather be fishing than just about anything else.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
