I have been looking for one of these back and forth to maintain trails in my woods. I have struggled with the price of them because its a large investment for a month of work with it. Last year I rented a what they call a Billy Goat walk behind brush cutter for $65 a day in pine city at best rental. If you could get it to go under the cutter it would cut it! I have no intentions of buying a pull behind unless the right deal shows up.
With the walk behind I was able to cut shooting lanes, swamp grass, and of course buck brush.
Yeah, they are pricey. That's why I hope I can rent one some where to try out. As far as the walk behind, we have quite a few trails, and would be going over them 5-6 times a year. Might be a good way to shed a few extra pounds.
The weeds and brush can be as tall as you want it will cut it! The thing you have to remember is it just cuts it not shred it like a lawnmower. We have a kid follow the cutter to push things to the side.
