OK guys our June trip to Canada was wiped out because of the El Reno tornadoes. So, we're planning a trip to Mille Lacs first week in October and we're catch-and-release smallmouth fishermen. Never been up north that time of year but looking forward to it.
Does anyone know of any smaller lakes in that area that are good for big smallmouth? We may need places to go if there's a strong north wind.
THANKS THANKS THANKS

Stay on Mille Lacs! Just play the wind and if needed drive to the opposite side. I have seen multiple pics of 17 to 20 inch smallies this year. Plus the big walleyes will be a bonus. You could check out Farm Island but size wise you are on the right body of water.

Hey OKFishhead,

Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Glad to have you aboard!

This is all going to depend on what you mean by fall. Here is a great article by one of the best smallie guides on Mille Lacs... I hope this helps...

Thanks, guys. I just hope the first week in October isn't "Winter".
I think prime-time fall fishing in Oklahoma would usually be around Halloween but it's different every year.
