OK guys our June trip to Canada was wiped out because of the El Reno tornadoes. So, we're planning a trip to Mille Lacs first week in October and we're catch-and-release smallmouth fishermen. Never been up north that time of year but looking forward to it. Does anyone know of any smaller lakes in that area that are good for big smallmouth? We may need places to go if there's a strong north wind. THANKS THANKS THANKS
Stay on Mille Lacs! Just play the wind and if needed drive to the opposite side. I have seen multiple pics of 17 to 20 inch smallies this year. Plus the big walleyes will be a bonus. You could check out Farm Island but size wise you are on the right body of water.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
