Largemouth bass fishing is good. They are everywhere from the shallows to the deep and in-between. Fish the shallow water inside weedlines with sand, the bass are relating to the sand. I use Leena Lures Trick Sticks a senko style worm hooked wacky style. I use a #3 offset worm hook, hooked thru the center of the worm that makes it wacky style. Another advantage to the Trick Stick it has a slot in it that allows you to hook it just like a plastic worm, but the hook is not exposed it becomes weedless. Sometimes the bass want a lure that glides over the erratic wacky style. Colors that have been working Watermelon-seed,and Black Blue fleck.
Mid-range depths 4ft-9ft the weeds are not up there is a gap between the top of the weeds and surface of the water. Here you need to cover water. Here I'm using crank baits or spinner baits.Cranking I'm using Rapala DT3 & DT6 just casting them out and cranking them back. Colors Bleeding Olive Shiner and Silver & Black. Spinner baits cast them out and slow roll them back don't burn them back to boat. Slow rolling allows the lure to stay in the strike zone longer. I'm using 1/2 oz. Leena Lures Pro Series Tandem Spin colors Clown, Blue Shad, & Bluegill with minnow pattern blades & the new Spinnerella Elite series in Silver Shiner pattern.
Deeper areas 9ft-14ft range here is where its a fun mixed bag of fish Bass, Northerns, and Muskies. The bigger fish are out here. I'm trolling these areas with Rapala Tail Dancers & the new Rapala Scatter Rap Minnow. Troll at 2.0 mph-2.5 mph Scatter Rap Minnow Clown & Golden Alburnus. Use # 7 in Black & Silver & Hot Chub Go have some fun don't let the weather get to you.
People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing. ~ Ed Zern, 1947
