I make my own spinner rigs and generally use red beads. I seem to have better success using red than other colors. I am interested in comments from other anglers and curious to see if a particular color or combination of colors stands out among the replies.

Hey spike,

I guess that is going to depend on what, where and when. On my home lake I use lime green and metallic red. Mille Lacs, I have been partial to red aand orange. Water clarity is also a big factor. It's why most manufacturers produce so many color combinations.

I love chartruse and glow beads. I also keep a golw beads in my box and will slide one on any lure if the bite seems finicky!

For me it's more about what I'm fishing for. If eye's, red and deep blue. But if it's a Perch bite? Red only, but's that mainly under a bobber, either hard or soft water....
