I have been looking all over the Internet for a place where MN kayak fishing is discussed. Not much out there. Is there anyone out there on MFP who fish from kayaks? It would be great to share rigging ideas and to bounce ideas off others.

Lots of people stopped talking about where and how to fish. The net, cellphones and technology lets word spread to fast. There were a couple sites where yak fishers would share. That was a couple years back.It seemed to stop also.
So where do you fish??Just a basic area.I am in kandiyohi county on Diamond lake,I use the yak in the crow river,Mn.river and some lakes with only road access.I like the flyrod evenings in the shallows for sunnies. But on lakes I also use a 14 or 16.5 ft boat and motor. The yak is for areas where others cant go without one.
I also use the yak for archery fishing, use it to get to areas once again where others cant go.They cant walk in on private property.

for many years I fished out of an Outcast Fish Cat Cougar (Hence the handle). It's an inflateable, but you fish in it much like a 'yak. I was going to suggest you hit ip MNBassFisher, but it looks like you've already seen his vids.

Ice fishing can be done at any time of day, and is typically most active around dusk and dawn. Catching fish with lines and fish hooks or spears through an opening in the ice on a frozen body of water.

I sure hope this is as fun as it looks. My big boat gets launched on the 22nd so I will be hitting the water soon with the yak too.

VivaYak where you located? The kayak is a great way to getaway from it all,Skinny water quiet, peaceful and places to fish few get to.If you ever get my way let me know we can meetup and fish what I'd deem as the best bite at that time. The skinny river to explore and fish or the very scenic Mn river and BIG cats and lots of different species in a place you'd thing is wilderness.Or I can point you to some nice places within 50 miles of Willmar,Mn.
