Said this before: I'm not an ice guy. I spend the hard water season tuning my gear and looking for the latest and greatest to throw come the bass opener. A few weeks ago I took a chance and ordered some custom lipless crank baits from a guy I met on Google+. Thought I'd let the MFP'ers know about 'em because, for one, they are fairly unique, and two, he was a great guy to work with.
Along with the made to order custom paint jobs, these 'traps came with other great features like oval split rings, Mustad trebles, hand tied feathers and holographic mylar. But the coolest thing about these 'traps is... they suspend!!! You don't find that in a lipless crank nowadays. So, if it sounds interesting, search for the old ones on eBay or give +Ben Garbin and his Golden Eye Lures a shout. If you're not on G+ then don't worry, Ben recently joined MFP and you can hook up with him at begarb77!
Welcome to MFP Ben. I can't wait to get these suckers in the lake!
Real world testing report to follow in the Spring...

Hey...I made those! And they are KILLERS. I am not just saying that either. They work on bass, pike, pickerel, the odd jumbo perch...sharks, whales, mermaids, you name it.
The rational behind them is, you are fishing, and pause the retrieve, now a rattle trap will sink, and if you are using it in the right type of area, will fall into a snag, or grass, or what have you. These will slowly rise when paused, no snags, just longer times in front of the fish. They run about 3-4 feet deep, are loud, and have a really tight wiggle. I have also been playing around with holographic flash which I think will add another dimension to an awesome bait already. I have a store front: www.etsy.com/shop/Goldeneyelures

This was my go to lure last year, in perch and albino. The lures I have provided to other people work with out a hitch. I open the store to try to get them to people who would like to use them. I am a one man cottage operation, and happy to do custom orders. I am not happy until you are happy.

I got DOZENS of pictures. Please come and check me out. www.etsy.com/shop/Goldeneyelures
