Lets start a thread to keep each other informed of ice conditions. In the central part of the state I'm seeing between 1.75 - 2.25". Not quite enough yet. I have heard reports of people fishing in Bottineau, ND and on Upper Red Lake. What are you guys finding? It's early so be EXTREMLY cautious if you plan on heading out. Tight Lines!

I've been by some small lakes in St. Paul that are mostly frozen but there is still some open water on most of them. Looks like more warm temps coming so I doubt the ice will make it through it.

We've been fishing for a couple days, the smaller lakes have up to 5 inches, the bigger lakes are still open, fishing has been slow but looking good this year.

Checked ice on some west metro lakes today; 2" a few feet out on hydes, open water out in the middle frown smiley 3" on the edge of eagle, swan swimming in the middle.

How far north do I have to go to find walkable ice this weekend? Anyone from the Detroit lakes area?
