I lived in Wisconsin for about 7 years and Minnesota for an additional 2. A few years ago family circumstatnces required that I return to Missouri. One thing I miss greatly is the superior overall and all around fishing oportunities that abounded in my former states of residence. That being said, and with a degree of sentiment in my heart, and maybe a tear in my eye, I would be intertested in knowing the size of the largest smallmouth that members of this forum either personally boated or personally had knowledge of being boated this past season. I suppose I will have to live these stories vicariously.
Hi The Fisher! Welcome to My Fishing Pals. Always good to hear from a former Minnesotan.
I personally caught a 4.2 lb. smallmouth about 11 years ago up in the BWCA. Lots of fun. I really haven't fished a lot for smallies in the past few years. Most of the fishing I have been doing is for walleyes and crappies. I used to fish bass exclusively for many years, especially largemouths. I have caught largemouths in the 6 lb range. I think this coming spring and summer I may dig out the plastics again and see what I can do. A lot of good bass fishing in the Twin Cities area.
1st post here guys...No need to travel that far webdude for quality smallies...just head to the St. Cloud area on the Mississippi river and you will find some of the best bass fishing in the USA!! Just visit my website and judge for yourself. This past year I lost count at 30 fish that exceeded 19". I can't think of another place where you have a legitimate shot at 4 to 5 pound fish. Nav
Hi Navigator! Welcome to My Fishing Pals! Glad you could make it.
I see your site in your profile. Don't be bashful, you can post it here. Almost anything goes on this forum. I will add your link to the post you just made. Maybe we can get some of the forum users to pay you a visit!
If you don't have the photo on a site somewhere, email it to me and I will add it here at your request. OR/AND I will add it to my pictures page!!!!!
Sorry for the run-around on this. I built the forum from scratch and never built a file upload as of yet. This is not a canned program, but something I created so I can add fuctionality or customize it as much as I want. Just haven't had the time.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
