I picked up 2 of Daiwa's new Arid baitcasters a couple weeks ago but they are not the reel for me. I'm switching from Pflueger to Daiwa but, frankly, these reels feel too small in my hands. Small and light is the current trend I guess. They cast like a mother though. I got them because I was impressed with the higher-end components that were used. The Daiwa swept handle is the best in the biz, imo. The frame is pretty sturdy for a composite too. It's a solid mid-priced baitcaster.
Even eminent chartered accountants are known, in their capacity as fishermen, blissfully to ignore differences between seven and ten inches, half a pound and two pounds, three fish and a dozen fish. ~ William Sherwood Fox, Silken Lines and Silver Hooks, 1954
